Naptime Deals LLC runs naptimedeals.com, a daily deals newsletter and website for families. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be technically unassailable — if anything here is unclear, ask us.

What we collect

Only what the site actually needs:

• Your email address, and your name if you give it, when you sign up for the newsletter. The signup form also records the date and time you subscribed.
• Ordinary web-server and analytics data when you visit: IP address, browser type, referring page, and which pages you viewed.
• Email engagement — see below, because we would rather say it plainly than bury it.

We do not ask for, and have no use for, your address, phone number, date of birth or payment details. We never see your payment information when you buy from a retailer we link to.

Our emails track opens and clicks

Our newsletter includes a small invisible image that tells us an email was opened, and links that pass through our own server before forwarding you to the retailer, which tells us which deals were clicked. This is how we know which deals are worth sending. It is standard for email newsletters, and we are telling you because you deserve to know rather than to discover it.

Blocking images in your email client stops open tracking. Unsubscribing stops all of it.

How we use it

• To send you the daily deals email you signed up for.
• To understand which deals people find useful, so we send better ones.
• To keep the site working and to protect the signup form from bots.

We do not sell, rent or trade your email address or any other personal information.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and tells us how many people visit and which pages they read. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and collects no personal information. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not run ads on this site.

Our signup form uses Google reCAPTCHA to keep bots out. Google collects hardware and software information from your browser to decide whether you are a person, and its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy.

Affiliate links

Almost every deal we post is an affiliate link — including Amazon Associates, Walmart, Target and similar programmes. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those links pass through a link-tracking service and then to the retailer, and the retailer and the affiliate network apply their own tracking and privacy policies once you arrive. We have no control over, and no access to, what you do on their sites.

When you tap a deal, your browser tells the retailer that you came from naptimedeals.com. It does not pass the page you were on or anything you typed — only the site name, which is how the retailer credits us for the referral.

Who else handles your information

We keep the list ourselves rather than handing it to a marketing platform, but these companies are necessarily involved in running the service:

• Hostinger — hosts the website and our email software.
• Cloudflare — serves and protects the site; sees traffic as it passes through.
• Amazon SES — delivers the newsletter to your inbox.
• Google — Analytics and reCAPTCHA, as described above.
• Affiliate networks and retailers — only once you click a deal link.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it. That is the only other circumstance.

How long we keep it

Your email address stays on our list until you unsubscribe, after which it is retained only as a record that you opted out, so we do not accidentally add you back. Analytics data is kept on the retention schedules of the services above.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. It works immediately and needs no explanation.
• Ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email us and we will do it.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or state privacy laws. We will honour those requests regardless of where you live, because the list is small enough that there is no reason not to.

Children

This site is written for parents, not for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be mentioned in the newsletter.
